The Canadian
Bobath Instructors Association (CBIA) is the instructor component
of the B.I.G. |
B.I.G membership is open to occupational therapists and to physiotherapists who are
Neurosciences Division members of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
The Bobath concept is a problem solving approach to the assessment and treatment of
individuals with disturbances of function, movement and postural control due to a lesion of the
central nervous system. |

Purpose |
The purpose of Bobath Interest Group (a practice based subgroup), is to: |

Develop a peer support system for physiotherapists
and occupational therapists practicing the Bobath Concept in
Canada |

Contribute to meeting post graduate clinical education
needs relevant to the Bobath Concept across Canada through CBIA |

Contribute to research pertaining to the Bobath
Concept |
 |
Facilitate participation of Canadian PT's and OT's
with an interest in the Bobath Concept in both national and
international meetings related to neurological rehabilitation |

Facilitate the ongoing development of the BIG website
to the above purposes |

Accountability |
Bobath Interest Group is accountable to NSD. |
The Canadian Bobath Instructors Association is operationally accountable to the Bobath Interest
Group, and shall adhere to the rules and regulations of International Bobath Instructors
Association |
